Wedding blessings
Most traditional weddings will include a reading of wedding blessings. The bride and groom may select favorite poems or prayers to be read at the ceremony, and sometimes, wedding blessings are read at rehearsal dinners as well. The couple should sit down and consider what meaning they want to convey to their guests through their blessings. You may choose a friend or family member to read wedding blessings, either someone who is part of the wedding party or otherwise. Some couples will ask a grandparent or coworker to read special prayers or poems during the wedding. Wedding blessings are traditionally given at the reception by the best man, the father of the bride, or the groom. Blessings should celebrate the joy and love between the couple, and should wish for happiness, bliss and health. Books of blessings will also give you ideas about etiquette and tradition. The union of marriage is sacred, and whether you have written your own or you have chosen them from a collection, your blessing will be appreciated by the newly married couple.
